Milanese Gallerist Rossana Orlandi Will Evaluate Eurasian Prize Entries
The Eurasian Prize Organizing Committee is thrilled to announce the next 2018 jury member, a person who is well-known in the world of design: Rossana Orlandi, the founder and director of the internationally acclaimed Galleria Rossana Orlandi in Milan.
Founder and director of one of Europe’s most important design galleries, Rossana is famous for having an unmatched eye for spotting design talent. Galleria Rossana Orlandi opened in 2002 in a former tie factory in the Magent neighborhood. Over the years, the Gallery has forecasted multiple new and upcoming designers, establishing the premises as one of the most revered platforms for avant-garde design. Rossana started her activity focusing on the rising Dutch design wave, but the research has moved widely around the world.
Exhibiting at Spazio Rossana Orlandi has become a ticket to the top for Piet Hein Eek, Maarten Baas, Nacho Carbonell, Jaime Hayon, and many others whose names are now well-known in the world of design. When Tom Dixon, Marcel Wanders, and Studio Job were rising stars, she quickly realized what they were to become.
The gallery space is articulated in an untraditional way, combining a showroom, a retail store, offices and a courtyard for events and meeting, creating a unique atmosphere where everything is in balance. In addition to the legendary spot in Milan, Rossana Orlandi also operates the summer-season outpost in the resort town of Porto Cervo, Sardinia.
