Belgorod city

The BELGOROD CITY administrative and office complex at south-west district of Belgorod offers a floor space of around 117,000 square metres and is home for 46000 workplaces. The main idea of the urban planning and building design was to create comfortable environment for both the workers and neighboring residents. In addition to the main use of the building ensemble as public authorities and business offices, it also houses event and congress rooms, a shopping center, sports and wellness centers, children’s clubs, cinemas, restaurants and galleries. In the middle there is a square with water feature and sculpture, which is intended to act as both a magnet and a calming influence for the visitors as a sheltered courtyard area. But also offers the square space for city festivals, events, music shows, open air cinema in summer and ice skating with Christmas tree in winter. The open-plan office concept with fluid transitions within the space requires high durability and flexibility in terms of flooring in the work and event areas. The warm color of the wooden surfaces helps create a pleasant atmosphere in the meeting and lounge areas. The floors are very comfortable to walk. The free-form and curving structure of BELGOROD CITY forms a characteristic solitaire as a new architectural accent in the south-west district of Belgorod. Greenery and bright atmosphere determine the courtyards and buildings. The free-form, curved building lends the office building a unique flair in future Sport Park. The generous use of natural lighting, the varied facade, contribute to this building’s stunning impact, not only due to its sustainability.Following the principle of ‘Working in the countryside’ the free-form structure of the building refers to its surroundings with its forward and backwards swinging facades. The organic architectural language of the building compliments the landscaping around it.The recessed facade entrance leads visitors into a 4 glass-roofed courtyards. The wooden decks, water areas, cafés and the adjoining foyer makes it a much liked meeting point and event space. With its organically curving facade the administrative and office building Belgorod city brings dynamic forms into existed circular traffic intersection. The free-form and curved building structure sets a new structural accent as a characteristic solitaire. Water features on the grounds surround the structure in gentle curves and mirrors the organic curved building as a reflection in the landscape. The parking area with almost 1600 parking places around the building follow the same design language and complement the building’s overall appearance, both functionally and creatively.
