The object is located in the Scarlet Sails villa community, 20 kilometers from Yekaterinburg. The individual residential house uses the minimalist style and is designed for a young family. One of the most remarkable solutions is an open terrace and a system of stairs that together can cater to various scenarios of family activities. The terrace has two exits: one uses a staircase to the adjacent territory and is accentuated with a geometric oxidized-metal portal; the other leads to the second floor. The yard has a covered barbecue area.
The facades build on the idea of dividing the volumes of the first and second floors, complicated by play of additional elements from chopped oxidized steel and wood. Decoration also uses grey HPL panels and white plaster.
The entrance hall area features a dressing room to store seasonal items and a separate wardrobe for the everyday-use outerwear. The first floor contains a laundry room, a sauna with a shower, a shared bathroom, a guest bedroom and living room area, a kitchen and a dining room that are united to form a common double-height space. The follows a classical division into public and private areas: for instance, the nursery, the study, the owners’ bedroom and living room with separate wardrobes and a bathroom are located on the second floor.
The owner of the house is has an introvert personality, which is reflected in the fencing around the territory: a two-meter fence isolates the owner from external observers. The white monolithic wall of the fence is softened by the rhythm of rotating sections half-meter wide that disrupt the visual communication of the external observer with the house territory, allowing only minimum connection between the inhabitants and the «outside world».
